The hands that built Luntian.Luntian is the brain child of Angel, the Founder behind the personality and operations of the brand.
A passionate vegan and animal rights advocate, her activism starts on the plate by transforming traditional food into vegan versions, proving that there is so much power found in plants. She is of mixed Filipino heritage and brings with her a culinary repertoire of Asian cuisines specialising in Filipino, Southeast Asian and Japanese cooking techniques. Her achievements include bagging the 2019 Grand Prize of EPAC's Vegan Cooking Competition with her award-winning Ginatan dish (a Filipino-style curry). Angel is also New Zealand's Filipino-Kiwi Chef of the Year for 2021, presented on the 123rd Philippine Independence Day Anniversary Commemoration by the NZ-PH business and media community, and was the recipient of an official Recognition of Excellence in 2020 by the Philippine Embassy in Wellington by the Philippine Ambassador himself, Amb. Jesus Domingo for the works she has done in championing Filipino and New Zealand relations through Luntian. Her background is mainly in sales & marketing, having held senior positions for global corporates in her resume, but have decided to follow her passion and heart in creating delicious plant-based Filipino fare. Angel also owns and runs other businesses in other industries (namely building and trades) and also privately teaches plant-based cooking in her spare time. |
