In the midst of this global crisis -- opportunities arise.
As vegans, we are one in our shared vision and responsibilities in forging a more vegan-orientated future for our children and the planet. During the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated New Zealand lockdown, we were brought to our knees as small business operators and had to take the time to assess our operations and think of how we can navigate our way around this "new norm". We have been fortunate to be working alongside the best in the community and from this crisis, we realised that we need to stand united and be kinder more than ever. As our response to the upcoming Level 3 situation, we're joining our teams together with the fabulous Vegan Comfort NZ to bring our fans the best of our ultimate vegan creations all from one shared goal of reaching more Aucklanders during Level 3 with delicious, hearty, unique and healthy vegan options. We will be doing contactless pick-ups/takeaways and deliveries starting next week, offering both sweet and savoury options plus Vegan Comfort's bestsellers AND a new menu from Luntian NZ 😄 We're super excited and over the moon to be working again with Marina in the kitchen -- having done a collab together during our Luntian NZ Filipino Vegan Pop Up last February! Can't wait!! Stay tuned and ready your plates -- we're bringing awesome and kickass goodies straight to you from our buzzing teams! ✌️💜 BRING ON LEVEL 3!

Filipino Food has very diverse influences, ranging from the neighbouring Asian countries to European and even American tastes.
We have been very busy experimenting in our test kitchen to come up with the perfect "CHIQN" -- a meat analogue that is 100% plant-based but has the same "meaty" texture and fibres. Very happy to announce that we have finally cracked the code to our vegan CHIQN and have included in these in some items on our menu! Featured here is our herb-crusted CHIQN with grilled mushrooms on a bed of truffled mash and crunchy pea sprouts. Our vegan CHIQN is made from seitan -- a product derived from the manual manipulation of wheat gluten then seasoned with appropriate spices. Sadly as this is a gluten-derived product, we will not be able to offer this to our Celiac, IBS and gluten-intolerant clients. We are onto the next phase of doing a pea-based derivative and if we are successful, we will definitely include this as an option in our future menus. Proof that we don't need animal products to enjoy traditional tastes and textures. The power of plants is enough to satisfy our palates. Follow our journey and let us amaze you with what plants can do :) ![]() The term "plant-based" refers to food that is made without any animal products or by-products. Filipino Food is generally meat-centric and lots of traditional dishes revolve around the use of animal parts and products such as eggs, seafood, gelatin and honey to name a few. Luntian prides itself in revolutionizing Filipino Cuisine in New Zealand and as a vegan business, all of our food are plant-based and cruelty-free. Our goal is to bring the traditional taste and remarkable experience of Filipino Food to New Zealand plates using 100% local plant-based produce without sacrificing the authenticity of flavours that is true to the Filipino taste. We want to introduce the concept of eating healthier, cleaner and more sustainably through exploring Filipino food and leave a legacy of kindness and compassion on our plates while enjoying the unique tastes, flavours and textures of dishes made from plants. By advocating for kindness and compassion through ethical eating, we also champion all Earthlings’ rights and seek to abolish speciesism by starting on the food on our plates. We believe that we can make a difference from the inside out and spread the message of caring for our planet and all its inhabitants. Our food is our tool to create a harmonious relationship with Nature and we aim to nourish and nurture souls by introducing the concept of conscious consumption and changing mindsets about food dictated by tradition. Our operations model revolves around reducing food waste and we participate in a circular economy where we practise composting and recycling as much as possible and follow practical steps to make sure we lessen as much as we can our carbon footprint with our processes and products. We are vegan foodies who are revolutionising a globally trending cuisine (Filipino Food) and prove that it is possible to eat healthy and delicious while enjoying genuine and traditional flavours without cruelty. We are changemakers and trailblazers, because there is no one like us yet in Aotearoa and our vision is to help New Zealanders live a healthier life by being kind and compassionate in their food choices while still enjoying delicious options from global cuisines. |
