Angel was recognised by the Filipino-Kiwi community as the
Filipino-Kiwi chef of the year last June 2021 during the 123rd Philippine Independence Day celebration, awarded by the Philippine Ambassador to Zealand in the presence of MPs and community leaders and members. Angel's work in the community in championing Filipino Cuisine and veganism has paved way for innovation in the enjoyment and presentation of Filipino Food. Organised by the School of Hospitality Management Graduate students in Advance Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management of the Philippine Women's University, this hybrid event features talks and recipe demonstrations from world-class industry experts, culinary innovators, registered nutritionists, and professionals in the gastronomy and baking professions.
